Overview: We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to focus on expanding our presence within the space technology and quantum computing sectors. In this role, you'll explore and build relationships with key industry players, identify collaboration opportunities, and help drive growth through strategic partnerships. You'll also have the opportunity to lead the design and execution of impactful events, such as hackathons and workshops, that engage these communities and foster innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with companies and organizations in the space and quantum computing sectors.
- Cultivate strong relationships with communities in these fields, encouraging them to use our platform for organizing hackathons and submitting innovative projects.
- Develop and implement business development strategies that support long-term collaborations with frontier tech organizations, particularly around hackathon and grant programs.
Event Leadership:
- Take charge of designing and organizing engaging hackathons and grant programs, handling everything from promotion and participant recruitment to inviting judges and mentors.
- Lead the planning and execution of workshops, curating relevant topics and securing expert speakers to enhance community engagement.
Industry Research:
- Stay on top of emerging trends in space technology and quantum computing, ensuring that events and partnerships are aligned with the latest developments in the field.
- Create regular research reports to provide valuable insights to the team and external partners.
Industry Representation:
- Act as the company's representative at key industry conferences and events, expanding the professional network and boosting the company's visibility in the frontier tech space.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of quantum computing, with a keen understanding of technological advancements, market trends, and challenges.
- Interest in space technology, with a good grasp of its key technologies and industry dynamics.
- Educational background in STEM (computer science, physics, electrical engineering, or related fields).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for collaboration and bring them to fruition.
- Experience in working with tech companies, developer communities, or similar organizations is a plus.
- Proven track record in organizing and executing hackathons, workshops, or similar events.
- Existing connections within the quantum computing or space technology sectors would be a significant advantage.
