Position Overview: As a Security Engineer focused on PKI, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PKI infrastructure. Your primary objective will be to ensure the secure and efficient management of digital certificates and cryptographic keys used throughout our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including network security, systems engineering, application development, and compliance, to ensure the effective integration and operation of PKI solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the organization's PKI strategy and roadmap, aligning it with security objectives, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Design, deploy, and manage the organization's PKI infrastructure, including certificate authorities, certificate lifecycle management systems, and cryptographic key management systems.
- Collaborate with network security, systems engineering, and application development teams to integrate PKI solutions into various systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
- Monitor and evaluate PKI operations to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of digital certificates and cryptographic keys.
- Conduct periodic audits and vulnerability assessments of PKI infrastructure and associated systems to identify and address security gaps or risks.
- Develop and maintain PKI policies, standards, and procedures, and provide guidance to stakeholders on PKI best practices and compliance requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and stakeholders regarding PKI-related matters, including certificate issuance, revocation, and management.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in PKI technologies, cryptography, and cybersecurity practices, and evaluate their applicability to the organization's security infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Solid experience (5+ years) working as a Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on PKI infrastructure and operations.
- In-depth knowledge of PKI concepts, including digital certificates, certificate authorities, certificate revocation, and cryptographic key management.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing PKI solutions, such as Microsoft Certificate Services, OpenSSL, or other industry-standard PKI frameworks.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- Strong understanding of cryptographic protocols, algorithms, and their practical implementation.
- Experience with network security technologies, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure remote access solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Professional certifications in information security, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are highly desirable.
