A close partner in the Real Estate Technology field is seeking skilled Network Engineers at both the Lead and Senior levels to strengthen the firm's corporate wireless network and oversee the global backbone spanning 6 data centers and 80+ offices. These two positions, based in Washington, DC, or Richmond, VA, provide a flexible hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as point of contact for troubleshooting complex enterprise network issues.
- Provide network engineering support for DevOps, DBA, Systems, Security, and Service Desk Teams.
- Manage and expand coverage of network monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Logic Monitor, PRTG, Nagios, etc.
- Enhance environment consistency through scripting (Python, PowerShell), Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
- Ensure stability and conformity of a fleet of offices with our standards.
- Maintain and enhance our IP Address Management (IPAM) platform.
- Learn and optimize the Aruba Wi-Fi platform in US and Europe centers.
- Utilize SEIM tools such as Qradar, Splunk, or Azure Sentinel for data querying and issue resolution.
- Contribute to new office designs to accommodate company growth (typically 400+ employees).
- Implement and support our Palo Alto Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) across 40+ locations.
- Work with various networking technologies, including firewalls (Palo Alto, CheckPoint, AWS Security Groups), Cisco Nexus switches (9Ks, 7Ks, 5Ks, 3Ks, FEXs), load balancers and traffic managers (F5 BIGIP LTM and GTM, Akamai), SSL VPN solutions (Palo Alto, Junos Pulse, CheckPoint, Zscaler ZPA), and more.
Basic Qualifications:
- Lead Network Engineer: Minimum 7+ years of relevant networking experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Senior Network Engineer: Minimum 5+ years of relevant networking experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, MIS, or related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, SNMP, VoIP, Firewalling, Load Balancing, Wireless, ACI, Python/PowerShell.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant industry certifications ie. PCNSE, PCSNA, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSA, CCSE, etc.
- Experience supporting enterprise Wi-Fi over LAN and WAN environments (preferably Aruba).
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco network devices.
- Work experience in environments with >5,000 endpoints (VMs, workstations, etc.).
- Expertise in internal and external DNS, global DNS, and IP Address Management (IPAM) systems (e.g., InfoBlox, Solarwinds).
- Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, AppDynamics, Nagios, Data Dog, PRTG.
- In-depth knowledge of local and global traffic management and load balancing solutions such as F5.
- Network security experience, including device hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, IPSec, vulnerability assessment, and intrusion detection.
- Familiarity with network protocol analyzers/sniffers.
- Knowledge of all types of circuits - P2P, Dark and Lit Fiber, MPLS, WAN, MAN, PRIs.
- Understanding of heterogeneous networking components along with in-depth knowledge of routing/switching.
