Senior Manager Salesforce Engineer

Overview

A technology-forward organization is seeking an experienced Salesforce Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable Salesforce solutions. This role will drive innovation and collaboration across cross-functional teams and external partners, leveraging modern development practices and Salesforce technologies to enhance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will provide advanced support, guide junior team members, and ensure successful project outcomes within a global, matrixed environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of new features and system enhancements within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and delivery teams to translate business needs into robust technical designs and scalable solutions.

  • Partner with managed service providers (MSPs) to review bids, design specifications, and delivery plans.

  • Provide technical oversight, review development outputs, and ensure alignment with platform best practices and security standards.

  • Deliver level 3 support for complex production incidents and mentor support teams to handle future issues effectively.

  • Contribute to the organization's best practice library and help define technical standards for Salesforce development.

  • Drive project execution, ensuring deliverables meet scope, quality, budget, and timeline requirements.

  • Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field-or equivalent work experience.

  • Salesforce certifications highly desirable:

    • Required/Preferred: Salesforce Admin, Platform Developer I/II

    • Additional Plus: Experience Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, CPQ Specialist, AI Associate, Advanced Admin, Field Service Lightning Consultant

Experience

  • 7-9 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering Salesforce solutions across diverse product lines and geographical regions.

  • Proven track record working in a globally sourced model with external vendors and development partners.

  • Experience managing multiple Salesforce products such as Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, and CRM Core.


Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise with Salesforce technologies including Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Events).

  • Familiarity with Heroku Connect, Chargent Payments, OwnBackup, and Salesforce Managed Packages.

  • Proficient in DevOps tools and processes; Copado Enterprise and SFDX experience is highly valued.

  • Knowledge of platform-level considerations including limits, throttling, authentication, and security.

  • Solid grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities for Salesforce platforms.

  • Experience with Splunk, CI/CD pipelines, and source control systems like Git.

  • Capable of analyzing and gathering business requirements to architect optimal Salesforce solutions.

  • Skilled in planning and executing technical projects, with an ability to manage timelines, quality, and cost.

  • Clear and concise communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong focus on user needs, solution adoption, and post-implementation support.

  • Leadership acumen to guide team members, vendors, and stakeholders through complex solution implementations.
