Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join a key client project, focusing on both build/project work and ongoing network support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SD-WAN solutions (specifically Silverpeak, but experience with other large-scale providers is acceptable), BGP, and Cisco MPLS networks. The role will involve a blend of technical deployment and troubleshooting tasks, requiring a strong background in networking, SD-WAN, and BGP, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support SD-WAN solutions (Silverpeak preferred, but other vendors considered).
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize BGP routing protocols across MPLS networks.
- Work on various network projects and initiatives, including the deployment and integration of SD-WAN and related technologies.
- Provide expert-level network support for complex issues and incidents.
- Ensure network reliability and optimal performance, troubleshooting network outages or issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support network solutions.
- Assist in network architecture planning, capacity management, and network growth strategies.
- Maintain network documentation and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Participate in on-call support rotation (every 5 weeks), providing timely incident response during off-hours.
Preferred Experience:
- Strong experience with SD-WAN technology, particularly with Silverpeak (or any other large-scale SD-WAN solution).
- Expertise in BGP routing protocols and Cisco MPLS configurations.
- Familiarity with network security, including firewall configurations and LAN/WIFI management.
- Experience with global networks and working in a distributed team.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related issues.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely in Eastern USA time zone hours (previous experience working in this time zone is required).
- Willingness to travel globally on occasion, as required for project deployments or support needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.
Contract Details:
- Full-time contract position with an initial 12-month duration.
- On-call support required every 5 weeks.
- Immediate start, with flexibility on specific start date.
