Job Summary
The Vice President of LTL will be responsible for overseeing the LTL operations, managing relationships with freight carriers, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This role requires a deep understanding of LTL logistics, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the LTL department, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency
Develop and implement strategies to optimize LTL operations, cost management, and service performance
Build and maintain relationships with freight carriers, negotiating contracts and service agreements
Oversee account management, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Analyze performance metrics and market trends to drive continuous improvement in LTL services
Collaborate with internal teams to align LTL operations with broader business objectives
Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the LTL department
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
10+ years of experience in LTL logistics, freight management, or transportation operations
Proven leadership experience in a senior management role within the logistics industry
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing carrier relationships
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive operational improvements
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strategic mindset
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in logistics management software and data analytics tools
