Job description:
Our client is seeking a VMware Automation Engineer to join their Automation Team within the Virtualization Tools group. The role involves developing automation scripts, managing VMware environments, and contributing to architecture, build, and run operations. The candidate will work in a highly automated environment managing VMware infrastructure and automation tools while collaborating with networking, storage, and DevOps teams..
Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain automation scripts using Python and Ansible for VMware environments.
- Administer and optimize VMware vSphere, vSAN, vCenter, and NSX platforms.
- Perform a mix of architecture, build, and run tasks as needed.
- Deploy and maintain VMware vROps, Log Insight, and automation tools.
- Work with Dell servers and manage hardware appliances.
- Troubleshoot issues related to virtualization, automation, and infrastructure.
- Work closely with DevOps, networking, and storage teams to optimize virtualization platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- VMware Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vCenter
- Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Python and Ansible
- Infrastructure Management: Experience with server hardware (Dell) and virtualization management tools
- Monitoring & Compliance: Knowledge of VMware vROps and Log Insight
- Storage Automation: Nice to have but not mandatory.
