Glocomms is partnered with a leading cloud-based home security and automation company dedicated to redefining smart home security through cutting-edge technology and seamless user experiences. This position will lead a highly skilled team of cloud security engineers, driving the strategy, design, and implementation of security controls across the organization's cloud and corporate environments. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership, ensuring the security of cloud workloads, containerized applications, network infrastructure, and corporate IT systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep experience in AWS security.
This role will remain highly technical while also providing people management, mentorship, and strategic direction for a growing security engineering team. The Cloud Security Engineering Manager will partner with infrastructure, DevOps, and security operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate security risks, drive automation, and enhance security monitoring and incident response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud security engineers. Define team objectives, establish best practices, and drive the adoption of cloud security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, IT, and Security Operations, to embed security into all aspects of the cloud ecosystem.
- Architect and implement cloud security solutions, focusing on AWS (primary) and Azure.
- Enhance security for containerized environments by implementing Cloud Workload Protection Platforms and container security best practices.
- Drive security automation using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Integrate threat intelligence into security operations to proactively detect and mitigate emerging threats.
- Lead cloud incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-mortem analysis. Develop and refine security playbooks to improve response times and mitigate risks efficiently.
- Oversee network security controls across cloud and corporate environments, leveraging Cisco security solutions and cloud-native network protections.
- Ensure proper security segmentation, firewall configurations, and secure networking between cloud and on-prem environments.
- Collaborate with IT to enforce security policies and improve the security posture of corporate infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or security engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or people management role, leading and mentoring security engineers.
- Expertise in AWS security services (IAM, VPC, Security Hub, GuardDuty, KMS, WAF, etc.) and familiarity with Azure security principles.
- Strong knowledge of container security, including Kubernetes security controls, image scanning, and runtime protection.
- Experience with threat intelligence, incident response, and security monitoring in cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewall policies, secure networking, and cloud-native network protections.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Terraform, CloudFormation, Bash, or similar).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance technical depth with business impact.
